The Bechdel Rules
pridenotprejudice and I were talking about movies, specfically about how difficult it is to find good movies that pass the Bechdel Test.
The Bechdel Test is a simple test, for those that haven’t heard of it:
The Bechdel Test
1. It has to have at least two women
2. Who talk to each other
3. About something besides a man
The Bechdel Test is not a test for feminism, progressiveism, or any other ism. This test simply reveals whether women are represented and whether they’re represented as people, not aspects of a man.
So, we created a new blog called The Bechdel Rules where will be posting two Bechdel approved movies a day. This blog will be a celebration of women in the movies.
If you think this sounds like a cool idea you can go and submit your favorite Bechdel approved movies. We’re a new blog so we need all the help we can get!
